NWR: I am giving my two weeks today and am flipping..UPDATE>>I DID IT

My boss is such a jerk I am terrified! What do I do? I wanna cry! If he insinuates anything about waiting until my wedding was over or anything like that, I am just going to leave, is that ok?

I am terrified!

UPDATE

All he said is that he is so good to people and he gets f**ked...then he called the woman that recruited me and said that he doesn't know what to do since he just paid me for ten days (actually it was nine) for my wedding and my honeymoon...does anyone know if he is allowed to not pay me for this week?

Don't be, just take a deep breath. I'm sure you have your reasons for leaving. You're starting a new life and sometimes you want a fresh start in your career as well.

I would just give him your notice and see what happens, be strong!!!! If he wants today to be your last day then so be it. You'll have the last laugh!!

Dont be terrified, just give him your notice and this way you are doing the right thing, if he says hey today will be your last day then just leave graciously

He already paid me for the vacation, so can he not pay me for this week even if I work?

I would clarify that with him.. why should you work for FREE?

If you took vacation time and they gave it to you under the assumption that you would accrue it, then they are allowed not to pay you for vacation days that you used that you did not accrue yet. So, he can dedcut it from your final paycheck.

I am still terrified of him..LOL he is such a jerk and his comment about being so good to people, just makes me realize that he is delusional. I think I am just going to stick the day out here and then disappear....two weeks notice isn't a law or anything so screw him! He hasnt said two words to me, but I feel it coming!

I know you are feeling like your boss is a complete *sshole (which he really sounds like one!!), but let me ask you......would you need this job as a reference for the future? The next 2 weeks might feel excruciating & long, but it might be worth it to stick it out.....me personally, I try not to burn any bridges, you never know when it might come back to haunt you!! But if you don't need him as a reference, then screw him and don't go back!!

he needs to pay you for any time worked. He also is required to pay you through your notice period if you asks you to leave.

I work in HR.

Re: NWR: I am giving my two weeks today and am flipping..UPDATE>>I DID IT

At one of my old jobs I gave my notice and because our vacation time was accrued at 1 day per month. It was july and I had taken 12 days off already. They took 4 days out of my final paycheck because technically I hadn't accrued all 12 days that I took off yet. They let me take all the days on the assumption that I would be there until the end of the year. Because I wasn't staying the entire year, they were entitled to deduct the money.

Ditto and they need your consent to take any money from your paycheck!
