NWR: I am going to have a breakdown

Ok for those that remember I left my crappy job and got a new job with Verizon?? Well on my interview my team manager gave me, I asked if I got paid for training? She told me yes I did, and that I got 400 bucks each week of training and that training can take up to four weeks. Ok so this week was my classroom training and I had to drive 3 hours everyday to this training and pay tons of tolls and fill up my car 3 times for gas but hey it was worth it because I would be getting 400 bucks and it was for only three days. Well today was my last day of classes and I was told that I would not be getting paid for training my another employee. So I said what do you mean my manager said I would and he said well I asked my manager and they told him that they no longer do that. So Since I was in class I sent a text to my manager asking her and she writes back :oh yeah sorry but they changed it and I just found out about it... ***!!! I would never ever have driven all those miles and paid all that money for nothing! So I am pissed and now they are saying that there is nothing I can do and my manager is not answering her phone! I need that money! My mortgage is due and I was banking on getting that 400 every week for bills I just dont know why this stuff happens to me! I am going to raise hell until they honor what I was told in my interview!

First i am sorry to hear this and i would go the the person that interviewed oyu and inquire as to why you were told there was a paid training and now there is not. you should have been advised of this before starting the training.

Well I have been trying to get in touch with my manager who hired me and told me I would be getting paid, I left her a voicemail and went to the office and no one was there.

I dont know if they knew, I just find it funny that on my last day of training they decide to tell me oh by the way your not getting paid for this.

yeah very weird its like they knew... just not right... people just dont care sometimes... get me mad... i think that with all that time gas & tolls they should at least pay for that... not right at all

OMG!!!! i'm so sorry about that. i'm glad to hear you're standing your ground and insisting upon being paid... i really hope they pay you for this. sorry that you're having a rough time - i'm crossing my fingers that it works out for you!

Oh my gosh that s*cks! I'm so sorry. I think you should make a stink about it. I guess the next time you should get it in writing so that you can show them you have a signed document. In the meantime, you will find a way to work things out. They always do.

Thanks everyone... I just am at such a loss. I feel that I am right but speaking to the people from this company... well they are basically saying that it was a mistake and that I was misinformed so I dont get paid and there is nothing I can do.

And I dont have it in writing but I mean how many people go into an interview, hear about the job and then so ok can I have that in writing??? I dunno, I guess this will just be my loss and I can either suck it up and start selling fios with the company and try to make money ( its only on commission) or I can look for another job and consider the time and gas and tolls I put into the training this week as a loss

My FH got paid for his training @ Verizon Wireless. Of course you should get paid...especially if you had to do all that traveling.

I would def. fight to get paid..go to the higher-ups if you have to. You were told that you would be paid, and it's not right that after you complete the training, they change the terms.

I would work there because you need the money, but keep looking for anything else.

Start calling bridal stores and see if they're hiring, you know it will be fun!
