NWR: I had to post this because it's so ridiculous I need to share!!

My DH's cousin just recently got engaged. His FW is this contolling crazy person. Needless to say we are not big fans of his choice to marry, but we keep that to ourselves.

I found out, that for Mother's Day, his cousin gave his Godmother an 8 X 10 picture of him and FW as a gift. W T F?!?!?! Who gives 8 X 10's of themselves to people??? If he gave that to me, I'd be like 'ummmm, I don't really want an 8 X 10 picture of you and your crazy fiance, thanks.'

So weird.

Please feel free to share your stories of ego-maniacs like my cousin-in-law, that assume you'd like a giant picture of them in your living room, or anything else that you're like ' W T F??'

hahahahaha, that is so funny that you posted that. I love my FSIL, but she is a bit of an ego maniac and so is her boyfriend. Every Christmas they give FI's grandmother an 8x10 picture of themselves...and they aren't even married!
She actually called us the other day to ask for a picture of us since she has so many of them and none of us!

That's hysterical! I don't think I have ever given anyone an 8x10 of myself.... ever! On the bright side... at least it gives you something to laugh at!

we gave my mom a framed picture of ourselves one mother's day because we didnt have much money and thought that was a good gift since she didnt have any pictures of us... she said it was one of her favorite gifts...

I did it also for my mom who wanted photos of me. I was much younger and went to Glamour Shots. She still has it on her bedroom dresser.

My sis and I gave my mom a whole set of pictures of us as a Christmas gift once. Neither of us wanted to do it, but that's what she wanted so we agreed. However, offering a picture of you as a gift if the person didn't ask is a bit odd and egotistical.

My parents friends came over (they hadn't seen in each other in a few years). She asks if we want to see pics of her kids. Sure no problem. She brings out 2 wallet sized pictures of each of them. Good looking kids. She then asks if we want to see a picture of her dog. She pulls out a 8x10 pic of her dog!!!! She had the 8x10 in her pocket book. Guess her kids don't rate much.

LOL thats funny because as we are about to finally choose pictures from our wedding, we dont even like the idea of having such a large picture of ourselves. And we actually LIKE each other!

Ummm - for mother's day we gave my stepmother, FH's mother, and grandmother frames, with IOU's of e-pics to follow - guess we give away pics of ourselves as gifts - I never knew there was anything wrong with it!

ETA_ No, they didn't ask for the pics of us, but we figured...

A. They already have everything they need
B. A LOT of money went into our photgrapher
C. They really have no pics of us
D. We are egotistical maniacs

In fact, I think most people would sum me up as an egotistical maniac... must be all the work I do with special needs kids - kind of makes you a bit glammy and vain....

All kidding aside.... BEEEEEee careful ladies - I don't get too insulted, and I'm a jokey type of gal with my terence and philips fart pictures and naked cowgirls and all, but remember - statements like that on a website where there will be lots and lots of pics of ladies in white with the men they love could be a bit touchy.... especially when those pics do wind up on a lot of family members' mantle pieces....

Let's be honest... all proud parents LOVE pictures... but an 8x10 may be going a little far. Maybe a photo montage would have been a little less obvious- lol-- I have a story to share--

My FBIL's fiance was ENRAGED that my FH proposed to me! My FH planned it out because my sister is moving away for the next 5 years & my best friend of 22 years is moving away too at the end of the summer-- My sister's Eparty is the end of June & his brothers is the end of July-- so my FH saw a TINY window where he felt we wouldn't be stepping on anyones toes by raining on eparty parades or not having 2 very special people to me be there to share the excitment with... well- she decided that I was 'stealing her thunder' we honestly only see her on holidays & their wedding has been booked since like the week they got engaged.... I suppose to get her thunder back- she threw a HUGE fit, was fighting with her FH & her FIL & to REALLY take the attention off of us... She called off her wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say the wedding is back on- but for a few days all anoyone could talk about was that the wedding was off- so my engagement has been entirely about her- she couldn't have planned it better... AAHHHH!!!

I used to give family members picks of me when I was like 7...they loved those school pics...but a random pic of him and is FW..thats a little ......odd!!
