ok...so I had a couple thousand dollars on my credit card for awhile b/c even though I send in big payments, I still needed to use it for school, emergencies, etc. Last month FH gave me $4000 to send itto them so I could have it paid off and not have to pay the outragous finance charges. Once they got my payment a couple of weeks ago, my online statement has said $0.00 balance. Well, I got o check eveything today and see that the balance is 27.94! I call up b/c I cant find where it says my charges and they tell me that it is the final finance charge!! I said 'But I paid it off completely last month, that shouldnt be there!' And she says to me that there is a daily finance charge so that is the finance charge for up until they recieved my payment!!

She kept repeating herself and finally I got so pissed at her I just hung up.
FH said he has paid credit cards off mid cycle and there was no problem. So basically what she was telling me was that the exact day that my billing period ended I would have had to pay it off right then and there in order to avoid these charges. But b/c I waited to recieve my statement in the mail and then send it back (like a normal person) I now have to pay this. I mean, its only $27 but its the point that they shouldnt be doing it like that. Anyone else ever heard of this?

Yea unfortunately it happens a lot. What I do is call the credit card company and ask for the pay off as of that day. Its really annoyong I know and I would be pissed also.

Tell them to cancel your credit card, that'll get them to remove the finance charge.....

AmEx did this wit me a while back...
they credited me the 10$... it was an error on their part...
i did liek you i got the bill in the mail and paid it off in full...
i have NO reasonto be billed a finance charge if they got a full payment by the due date!!!
i woudl fight it.

I HATE credit cards. They are run by skumbag pieces of shiit. I am not surprised they did that to you. I only have one credit card with about 200 bucks on it, which I accrued form the wedding. I am just waiting for the statement to pay it off.

The same exact thing happened to me with my master card when we paid it off. I was soooooooooo pissed!!! But the person I spoke with was actually really cool about it and made the charge 'disapear'!
Was the person you spoke to a supervisor? If not, then maybe you should go over their heads.....

Yeah ask to speak to a supervisor. You paid 4000 they should take that finance charge off. Tell them youre not paying it and you want to speak to a higher up...

I have heard of this...I got one that was for a dollar and I called and said that it was kind of ridiculous to write out a check and pay for a stamp for the charge and they dropped it. So frustrating I know.
