NWR: I need a lawyer

No I'm not getting a divorce

but I do need a laywer.. preferably someone who knows about custody/visitation.. someone with good rates or a payment plan.. if you know one please recommend.. thank you

Have you tried reaching out to the NY Bar Association?They can give you a referal...also try reaching out to the law schools in the eare, they are supervised students and are free (so long as your income is within limits).

I can see who my brother used, but I know he was very expensive...and the custody was part of the divorce settlement? So?

I was told to apply for legal aid but I am going to need someone who will fight for me because I have a difficult case and I don't believe they will be able to do much for me
