NWR - I Need To Vent!

So I'm in school getting my masters degree in Elementary Education, and I'm currently taking a summer class called Mainstreaming Readers With Special Needs in Grades 1-6...

my teacher is the most insensitive, inappropriate woman I've ever encountered in my life.

She assigned us 30 minute oral presentations and written papers that go with it and she assigned the topics that we were researching...

so last week on tuesday (we only have the class once a week), one of the girls in my class does her presentation. After she went on for half an hour with what i thought was a fantastic presentation, the teacher decides to tell us, in these words, 'OKAY EVERYBODY, FORGET WHAT YOU JUST HEARD. IT'S ALL GARBAGE' and continued to berate her infront of the whole class... we were like 'WHAT????' so at the break (We have a break because the class is 3 hours long) the girl ran outside and started crying! Can you blame her? Ugh i wouldve been in tears right in the classroom.

So last night was my presentation with my group (two of my friends were in the group)... we had the Writing Process and Strategies to Help Struggling Readers and Writers.... we did the research and in every article we researched, it said that there were five steps to the writing process... so we finish our presentation and she yells 'EVERYONE HAS TO KNOW THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ONLY FIVE STEPS IN THE WRITING PROCESS...THERE ARE EIGHT!' and again, we were all like 'what????'... then we take out her syllabus that she gave us the first night of class, and RIGHT ON IT IS THE WRITING PROCESS WITH... you guessed it... FIVE STEPS!!!!! AHHHHH IT DROVE ME NUTS!! and she also criticized one of our strategies called the Happy Meal Method which is used to help beginning writers and struggling writers with writing an essay or something... and she completely trashed it.

She had NOTHING good to say about it, and she even knew that the whole class was afraid to say anything because they didnt want to be embarassed... she said 'I see you all sitting on your hands not wanting to say anything... that is NOT a good idea.'

this woman is insane.


and now i feel better.

it gets worse, too...

a couple of weeks ago she called Handicapped people Gimps...

and last night we were talking about Little Miss Sunshine... and how she thought the only funny thing in the movie was when the 'average looking 7, 8, 9 year old girl was standing around with a bunch of Jon-Benets'

UGH I COULDVE SLAPPED HER!

What a ******* lunatic!! I guess they let her out of the looney bin on work release .... sorry to hear that you have such a mean ***** for a teacher.

I hate professors like that! Can you say something to your program director cause people like that need to be talked too! I am an activist when it comes to the education that i am literaly spending a fortune that I don't have on! I've had problems with teachers similar to that and I've always said something to their supervisor

Or hell stand up and say ummmmmmm did you forget that i contibute to your salary so if you dont wanna have a pay cut sit down and shut your A** up!

Sorry I got heated but their are way too many professors like that in the university and college setting!

Whoa She is a complete nut huh?!?!? Makes you wonder how someone like that can get a job teaching this country's future!!!! I've been lucky enough to stay away from teachers like that!

I would def go straight to a head honcho, or have everyone in your class write an email to him/her explaining how rude she is. It's a shame to think that many people after you will get the same type o treatment if the behavior is not reported

And Ps: I woulda been in tears myself and would have to excuse myself from the room... I cant even imagine.. :::shakes head::::

yeah we're able to do teacher reviews at the end of the semester online... everyone said shes getting a horrible review from them. thats good enough for me :) The good thing is i only have four classes left with her and then im done!
