NWR: i need to VENT... don't worry it's short

NWR: i need to VENT... don't worry it's short

why is it that girls post threads asking for help on something and then....

they either don't thank you when you help them?

or if you ask a question to better assist them, they never come back and answer your question?

i don't get it.

many of us are taking the time to help you and we don't even get a 'thanks'

i am not doing this to start 'drama' or to upset anyone... it's just that it makes me feel like 'poo' to not get a 'thanks'

vent over

I feel ya there. I also hate it when someone FM's you for advice and you right them back and they never say thank you

I know exactly what you mean. The worst is when someone asks for advice and they never come back at all and post. When someone helps me with something I make sure to thank each person that did.

I totally agree with you!! What also bothers me are the girls who ONLY ask for help/advice but never give any in return. It's a 2-way street!!

Totally agree with you.

It's not just on the chat boards though but daily. I think in general people are becoming more rude these days.

I have returned at least 100 calls to my home number for parents that are 1 digit off for this private school. I have been getting this call for well over a year and it's because the woman leaving the message speaks so fast that it does sound like my number. I have even spoken with her about it.

I call the parents back and I always give them the correct number (which I took the time to find after getting the same wrong number message a few times) and I always let them know that the message about their interview or whatever was left at the wrong number. I got two calls today in fact from the same woman who works at J. Crew.

Did I get a 'Thanks for not letting my kid miss out on a chance to get into this school.' NO!!! I have gotten less than 25% thank yous although the 25% who I do reach are so grateful that it somewhat makes up for the rude people.

I hear you! And I am definitely guilty of doing that... not an excuse but sometimes I'll post a question and I won't get a response right away so I'll sign off to go to school (or more likely - back to work) and when I sign back on my post is on like page 2 or 3 with a response and I feel bad bumping it back up with a thank you... but now I won't feel so bad and I'll be sure to bump. In fact, I'm going to thank someone right now!

i have mixed feelings about the replies to this thread. i'm happy to see that i'm not alone in how i feel. i'm sad to see that i'm not alone in being the recipient of this.

i guess, i voiced my vent because it seemed to be happening a lot more frequently, lately.

Hey guys. I've asked for advice and thanked when I could. Don't forget though, the people asking for advice (like me) are still new to this whole thing and may not have advice to give until we get further into the whole process.
I appreciate everyone's help and honesty, though! I'll definitely return the favor when I can.

i hope its not me!

I always try to thank when I remember.... but sometimes my mind is just all over the place!

To anyone I haven't thanked for anything.... THANKS I don't know how I'd plan my wedding without all of you

i think it's cute that three of you have apologized.

i feel that if you are taking the time to apologize, you're NOT one of the culprits

I just hate to offend anyone, because I really appreciate the input and feedback from everyoneeee here. As my family would say.... I'm such a mush!

Here's what I think about this - I often ask questions and try to respond that day and say Thank you to everyone that answered but sometimes I sign on a day later and my post is already on page 6 and I think saying thanks will look like I'm trying to get more people to post. Know what I mean?

I personally don't like it when someone's post moves to page 6 and then they respond with thanks and everyone starts answering them when that question has already been solved days ago.

I hope that makes sense

I know what you mean - what I normally do if I got the answer, and don't want pages more of advice, I will edit my post - so lets say the title said, 'need help with my crazy FSIL,' and everyone posted advice, I will come back and edit the thread with, 'need help with my crazy FSIL - edited with update' and then delete the 1st post I wrote on the thread, and then bump it on the bottom with a thankyou post - does that make sense? That way, those who know the thread wont read the 1st post anyway, because they responded to it, and those who never read it before wont read it again and answer....

I think I might be guilty of this but I dont do it on purpose. If its a post thats say on like page 4 then instead of replying to the post, I FM people thanking them for thier opinions.
