So I went out to dinner with friends tonight in Long Beach (won't mention the restaurant)...Food tasted great...Loved everything until I got home. I was so tired I went to bed immediately only to wake up one hour later sick as a dog....and I haven't been able to go back to bed....Everytime I lay down I get sick again (which is why I am up on the computer....trying to take my mind off of it)
I've never had food poisioning before so it may not be it...Either way...It is horrible!!! Just had to vent and share

ugh....I had it once.....thought I was going to die.....sorry you are going through that....i had the flu and thought that was bad, but food poisening definately was worse....Hang in there....it usually only lasts for a day...i woke up sick and felt sick, but when I was finally able to sleep a few hours wihtout having to get up, I woke up feeling MUCH better..

I've had food poisoning FOUR times. Yes, seriously... and from something different each time. Yes, you usually feel like you're going to die, but you should be better within 12-24 hours.
Each time I had it, I seemed to puke on schedule (either every half hour or every hour)... but I am just strange that way. Seriously, though, that's the only thing that distinguished it from a stomach virus for me -- well, that and the fact that I usually was only sick overnight and by late morning the next day was fine.
It could also just be a stomach bug... I'd call the doc.

That stinks! Make sure to drink lots of fluids-so you don't dehydrate. Hope you're feeling better soon!

i took a food class on how to cook with the right temps and times and all the info on how long stuff can stay out of the fridge before its bad and stuff like that and the instructor actually said a foodbourne illness usually takes 24-72 hours before it makes u sick..so maybe u just have a virus or something...

I've had food poisoning a couple of times, once on a flight home fromEurope (not fun). Takes a day or two to get out of your system. Just drink plenty of fluids, but only sip at water. I found water makes me sicker. Warm coke, ginger ale seemed to work better. Gatorade if you like it. Eat the BRAT diet, banana, plain rice, applesauce, toast until your stomach feels better.

aww feell better remeber to drink lots of water or gatorate it will probably last about 3-4 days ... ...i had food poisening a couple of months ago and i lost 6 lbs ....not that this method of losing weight is good but that was the only positve thing that happended and then i gained it al back when i could keep food down
i think you propbably just have a virus. cause if you had food poisoning you would feel like you are gonna die and you definatly would not be sitting at the computer. you would be on the floor . but i hope you feel better cause i got food poisoning twice and i wanted to die

Or it could have been something she ate a day or two ago... You don't always get food poisoning from a restaurant!

Food poisoning *can* take that long to show up but it doesn't have to. Depending on the type of bacteria you ingested you could get sick within 6-12 hours after eating..or it could take a day or two.
