NWR-- I think my cat died

My mom just called me from Fla to tell me that Bam Bam has been missing for 2 days... she cant find her anywhere. I have had her since I was 10... she was my bestest friend growing up...my mom is so upset and just doesnt know what to think... Bam Bam has never just gone missing like that... she really isnt even an outside cat... when it is time to die, do cats usually try to run away and do it on their own???

im SO upset...

Oh no that is so sad, I feel so sad for you. Try to think good thoughts and maybe Bam Bam will come back.
Unfortunately, I have heard that cats like to be alone when they are going to pass away.

I thought cats ran away when they were sick and almost knew they were going to pass.

Is Bam Bam sick?

Could it be that Bam Bam may have gotten stuck in a garage? My cat did that last summer. Sometimes they go off for a few days and come back.

I hope he's ok

I have had many cats, and only one passed away outside, though we did find her. How old was he? My cat that passed away a few months ago was 13.

she isnt stuck anywhere... my mom looked all over the house... she was 15...maybe it was just her time... she was still so lively...

I'mso sorry. I hope you cat is okay I always thought that outdoor cats as they got older spent most of their time inside. But I'm not sure about indoor cats.

i know how you feel - we had our cat Boomer put to sleep last week. i know its not the same, but losing a pet is never easy. we had boomer for over 11 years.

thanks girls!! It's so hard because we arent 100% sure... so im not sure how upset I should be or if i should be mourning her or not...

How old is your cat? Usually animals do go somewhere and hide when they die... my kitty didn't... she died suddenly about a month ago.. I am still so sad about it..
I hope you find your BamBam and that everything is ok.

I've had cats all my life and most of them, when they knew they were going to die, went away. A couple we found b/c they were sick and didn't make it very far, but some we didn't. I really feel for you. I'm sure your cat had a great life and she will be missed. to you and your family.
