NWR: I'm still neurotic/Sleep apnea

So, I've totally come on the boards multiple times just being a crazy girl with insane fears.

FH has been a snorer since I met him and I kind of self diagnosed him with sleep apnea. For some reason, I have this fear that he will die in his sleep from the apnea!! I've been bugging him to go to the doctor. I finally got him to my dr for an EKG, full bloodwork and even a sonogram of the heart. Everything came back fine, but he wants FH to go for a sleep study for sleep apnea since I always notice he stops sleeping during the night. I'm in the middle of scheduling it for him on the 30th

Does anyone else have experience with sleep apnea? FH is overweight, and we are both in the midst of weight loss. I'm just so terrified something bad will happen in the middle of the night.
Sorry for my nuttiness!! Sometimes I just need an open forum to VENT without driving him and my family crazy!

Sleep apnea is scary so you aren't nutty. My brother has it. If he does have it they will get him a cpap machine. The ones they have now are pretty small. Don't worry if he has it the cpap machine will make sure he'll be fine. If you have any specific questions fm me and ill ask my brother.

FH has sleep apnea. He (and I ) are both overweight and working on it. When we met he wasn't using a machine or anything but I need complete silence to sleep so once we moved in together I pressed the issue of him going to the doctor. He went for the sleep study and it was clear he had sleep apnea. They gave him a machine and mask that he uses to sleep with every night. This helps regulate his breathing. A HUGE factor is his weight so I am hoping that once he loses the weight, this should go away. I would definitely suggest the sleep study and if he has it, get the machine. It is so worth it. FH would sleep a bazillion hours and never feel rested, now he is getting better nights sleep, wakes up feeling rested and I don't fear something terrible is going to happen. I completely understand!!!!!

Have him do the sleep study and if he does have it they'll give him a CPAP machine. If you guys are in the midst of weight loss it should subside itself once he's lost enough weight.

Its a good thing you've pressed the issue because sleep apnea can be dangerous! I'm trying to convince FH to see a pulmonologist for the same thing!!

Keep us posted <3

Thanks ladies :) I posted on fitnesspal about it too, so my mind is a little more at ease. I can't wait for him to just get the information he needs so I'm not more of a nervous wreck than I already am!!
