I have had a rash and muscle aches for 4 week and a high grade fever for over 2 weeks i was in the hospital on friday they have done many tests and they don't know what is wrong they think that it might be a virus that just has to get out of my system and it could take up to several weeks they say the rash are hives it's just part of my body fitting

I responded to your other post but I will say it here also. I had scarlet fever 7 times when I was a kid!!! And the symptoms are very similar to what you are describing. Did your dr. mention anything about that?

I was in the hospital today with my FFIL and his nurse mentioned that there's a bad flu going around. Other than that, I can only hope you feel better soon. Make sure you're getting plenty of fluids.

KFA5477, I am sorry you are not feeling well. Especially for such a long time.
You mentioned you went to the hospital, have you gone to your regular dr?
Also, you look so familiar to me. I am wondering if I know you from somewhere.

You know what, what about shingles? One of the Instructors had shingles where I work.

Did they check you for fifths disease? Lupus?
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. It's always so scary when they don't know what it is, we all have the tendency to think the worst.
I hope you get better soon

I don't like the fact that they haven't narrowed it down to at least a couple of potential diagnoses at this point. You've had a number of serious symptons for weeks now. What hospital did you go to? Who is your regular doctor?
I'm not saying it's not someone good, but there is a world of difference between, say, Nassau Community Medical Center, and North Shore, in terms of the quality of care, so just be sure that you've got the best doctors possible when it comes to your and your familys' health.
Chances are that it's not anything serious...don't want to get you worried or anything...but when it comes to health, I don't think that there is such a thing as being too cautious.
The job of your primary care physician is to be a detective in terms of diagnosing ailments based on reported symptoms, so hopefully yours will come up with something when you see him/her. If not, go see someone else - keep trying until you get some answers. Good luck, and feel better! Rest up and take care of yourself. The only thing to be worried about is not knowing what's wrong. Whatever it is, you will get through it!

Feel better soon. Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know).

I was going to say it sounds similar to shingles. My mom had this last year and it layed her up quite a bit. The doctor prescribed neuronitn & vicodin.
I hope you feel better soon

Are you taking any medications? Maybe it is a reaction. What about over the counter viamins/medications/beauty products?
Also, what do you do for a living? Do you work with kids? Animals? Chemicals?
Why did you faint? Were you just standing or were you getting up and fainted?
What do you mean by a high grade fever? Over 100F?
What kind of rash - red only or red and bumpy with open sores?
Sorry about all the q's but docs tend not to ask these simple questions...you don't have to tell us, just make sure the docs know these answers!
