The speaker phone on my Droid has died and I am up for an upgrade with Verizon; however, I was holding out for the iPhone 5... anyone know anything about a release date? I was told once May 2012. But I don't see that confirmed anywhere!

FH got the 4 and within 3 weeks the 4S came out. I would flip if that happened to me.
I don't have the blue tooth so I need my Speaker Phone when driving, I guess I can always get a refurbished Droid for now (it'll be free).

Or just go with the 4s.. Siri is hysterical I'm not too sure what the differences between the 4s and the 5 are though... I love my phone

FH worked for Apple and even the employees know nothing about release dates. Check MacRumors.com and see what the trend has been, they usually stick to releasing the phones around the same month!

I feel like there are always glitches and problems with the new phones when they first come out, def better off just getting the 4s, its a great phone..

This is definitely something I am concerned with. I may just have to get the 4s... you should hear my phone ring. It sounds sad LOL

Thanks, found this:
The report also claims that the iPhone 5 will debut in June at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), returning to the mid-year launch schedule seen up until last year's launch of the iPhone 4S in October. Most observers expect, however, that the iPhone 5 will not launch until the later September-October timeframe this year as well.
Don't think I want to wait till the Fall!

Didn't hear a official release date, they always changing it anyways. I was holding out myself. I have a 3GS i didn't want the 4 because of the glitches but i heard the 4S might as well be the 5 there wont be much difference. I am thinking about just going for the 4S

Spoke to Verizon and was actually recommended to get an Android (again). It's 4G and the phone isn't...

The 4S is really great. It depends what you like, I personally like it a LOT better than the android I had. There are just little differences. I also read a few times that the 4G really doesn't make a difference because it's not actually much faster and/or it's not really available everywhere. I really can't remember... but I'm sure if you google it, something will come up.

I know the 4G is in my area and it will allow me to be on the phone and search the web at the same time. I'm really so confused. ...And I'm laughing at myself for so confused over this.

Re: NWR - iPhone 5
My future brother-in-law works for Apple, and I'm an Apple fanatic...
iPhone release dates tend to fall within July or October...not even Apple workers will know when a release is until a few days before the pre-sale. If the iPhone 5 is going to come out this year it will probably be October but you'll have to wait and see! But if you have a choice...iPhone is TOTALLY worth it, and the 5 will probably be radically changed from the 4S. Alot of non-iPhone users don't really notice the differences from one iPhone to another, so it's really your choice!
Good luck!
