Re: NWR: is this a scam?
I am not sure if its a scam per say, but I think I get that call about 8 times a year. They want you to come in and look at stuff they are selling, but I never have

Yeah I 'won' the same thing at the Great Bridal Expo. What a let down! It probably wouldn't hurt to make a phone call though! Maybe this one's different? I'm such a fool, I always hold out hope!

Re: NWR: is this a scam?
When I was 18, I got conned into taking a summer job with them. It's a giant pyramid scheme. We had to go to the city everyday and make girls fill out little cards and anyone who was engaged or recently married won. Then we had to call and tell them they were winners, but first we had to go to their house and give them a 2 hour shpeil. At that time it was a vacation to mexico or jamaica... You did get something free out of it, I forgot, maybe just airfare or hotel, but it was not completely free. I don't know anyone who actually went on the vacation as the only people who I sold products to was my parents and my grandmother. LOL I'm the worst salesperson ever. They sell over priced china, pots and pans, knives, water filters and stuff like that. The knives are actually very good, my mom bought them. If you are willing to sit through the sales pitch, go ahead. You don't have to buy anything to get the prize, but the prize is not 100% free.

Ok, so the same people have called me several times with all different names, Chef World, 21st century, etc, etc.
It's not a scam per se, but you do have to sit through a 90 minute high-pressure sales presentation to get the gifts, and I've heard some people have even had trouble booking the trip and had to give a 'deposit'. I'd rather pay for my own 2 hotel nights and call it a day
