FH and I are going to Italy (Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast) on our honeymoon. I went ti Barnes and Noble this morning to try to find a good travel guide and there are SO MANY to choose from. I was wondering if anyone could recommend one they find particularly useful/amazing (i.e. Frommers, Lonely Planet, etc.).
Also, if you recently went to these places and are looking to sell your travel guides you no longer need, please FM me!
TIA!

Re: NWR: Italy Travel Guides
I swear by Frommers! I would give you my Italy one from 2007 but I'm bad with travel guides. I don't like lugging them around so I tend to rip out pages and stuff them in my bag on the day I'm in that particular area.
For example, when I was in Rome- I ripped out the Rome pages and threw them in my bag. They came in very handy walking around the city.

Re: NWR: Italy Travel Guides
My brother and sister in law just got back from Italy a week ago. My SIL bought a TON of books before they left, believe she said the Frommer's was the best.

Re: NWR: Italy Travel Guides
IMO the best one is The Rough Guide, I went to Croatia this summer and really was a great help and gave great tips and geared towards low cost. It also had my FH town in the book, which made me buy it ASAP bc it is a small town.
I lived in Rome and traveled all over Italy so if you need any tips on anything let me know.
FYI buy your books at Borders, if you sign up for the email list they send 40% off coupons all the time

Re: NWR: Italy Travel Guides
I went to Italy almost 4 years ago now ( so my guide books wont be that great now, plus, I have a sentimental attachement ) and I went almost everywhere with my lonely planet book. My friend had frommers, but we didnt like it as much so we ended up using mine the most. I must say that in some cities having both guides was helpful! I love love Italy so Enjoy!!!

Like Maria, I'm also doing the same HM but adding Venice. I like to travel alot and usually buy Frommers, however, for Italy I got Eyewitness Travel. I love the colored pictures, maps and how the highlight the must see places.
