Has anyone been to these? I need a hair cut soooo bad! And im really really picky about who cuts my hair, but Im also very broke at the moment cus we are moving and I just bought furniture. So I can't spend $70 on a hair cut right now. And there is one on the corner of where I am working right now so I was thinking of going after work. But I get panicky when someone new does my hair. If anyone knows anything, I would appreciate your input!
Thank you!

I went to the one on 46/Madison. First of all, they cut your hair w/ a razor which causes split ends. It's about $50 for a cut depending on hair length. The second thing is, I've gone in for blow-outs a couple of times and they charge me a different price each time! Jean Claude Biguine is the same type of place but much much better in my opinion.

Totally agree....don't go to one of those places. I went to one and the girl who cut my hair had no idea what she was doing. I had to have my hair re-cut a few days later. Totally hate that place.

Don't go to them!! I got my haircut done there once for a trim and she started to use a razor! I was freaking out!!! They don't use scissors there...they say the razor is a French technique. I was like GET ME OUT OF HERE!!

I'm glad I read this thread because I was thinking of going there.
I have to be honest, my hair is sometimes razored in the front by my regular hair person to add wispy layers though, but I don't wanna spend an arm and a leg getting my hair trimmed right now.

I made an appointment at a place near my apartment called Artistik salon. Its on 77th. Ctysearch reviews were great and its $35 for a shampoo and cut- but you have to pay extra for a blow dry. Which I find weird cus how can you tell what the cut looks like with out it being dry?

That's across the street from my apartment!! Please let me know how they are! $35 for a shampoo and cut is a great price...

I go to the Jean Pierre Salon on 58th street and Third Avenue. My girl's name is Natasha and yes she cuts my hair with a razor-Because I want her to. I specificially hunted around for someone that can guive good razored cuts and my hair quality is fine, btw.
As far as I know (and I have been going to her for 4 years now) they all use scissors unless you ask for the razor. She usually snips my hair with scissors then razors the ends. I don't know about the one on 46th, but my place is pretty good. I will only reccomend Natasha and the asian guy whose name I forget but he's the only gay asian man there. I will admit I went to seem older russian woman there before I found Natasha (took me a yr to go back) and she BUTCHERED my hair.

razoring is a hard technique to master and it does not cause split ends..I don't know where that came from..I use razor on a lot of my clients and its to give a softer line which will create more depth and dimension with the cut with out taking a lot of length off..and you can actually go longer between cuts because of the fact that split ends do not happen more with razor..it doesnt matter what you use..split ends are split ends and everyone gets them..there is nothing you can do about it..just get it cut every 4-6 weeks so you see growth in the length
