So I had my interview this morning. It went really well. I have a demo lesson on April 15th. If all goes well...hopefully I will get offered the job.
Just a lot to think about now.....do I take this job, taking a HUGE paycut, not be able to coach anymore, etc. Or do I turn down the job and wait and see if I get another job....probably another leave replacement if I'm lucky. Or wait and see if I get a job in the city. I have no idea what the hiring situation in the city is.

If not take it...bc some money is better than no money. interview elsewhere also and if something better comes up oh well..it's your life.

ITA. it all depends on your current situation. if you have no job now, then take it and see what comes in the future, if you do have a job, then you need to think if you can actually 'afford' the paycut, esp with a wedding on the way.

what you should think about is are you going to be getting a signifacant about more the unemployment! if you are going to be making the same amount to not be working dont!

Well the situation is I am a full year leave replacement...so i am not eligible for unemployment. And my job ends June 26th. But i'm afraid to shut myself out of potential jobs......but on the other hand their might not be potential jobs. But the paycut is so great I don't know how I would live on the salary. I mean i really wanna be a teacher.....but i have to give up coaching with this job. I also have another possible opportunity with the nassau county police department making about double the money.....but its not teaching. And it could be very dead end.

hmmm...i def think i would sit down and really see if you could take the pay cut. and also knowing that this job would be your class and not a leave replacement , maybe thats something that you want to. and if you love coaching that's something that you have to weigh out and see if you really wanna loose that. but you never know the new school may also have a coaching job available at some point!
its def not an easy decision!

take it....u can always still apply to other schools in the meantime......teaching jobs are really hard to come by and a full time job making less money is better than a leave replacement making more money

I would take it for now. You can always apply later on and take something better if it comes a long. I hear its rough getting jobs so if you get something take it.

if you take this job..do you have to sign a contract of any sort? do you have to stay for a certain amount of time? if not then take it and continue looking!!
