If you were offered a job that paid only $1,000 more than your current salary but was closer to home...would you leave your current job for that new position?
Also keeping in mind that taking time off for wedding/HM may pose a conflict.

Re: NWR: Job Question...what would you do?
I guess it would depend on the job. Is it something you want to be doing? If so, I would probably take it and just make sure they knew ahead of time that I would be taking off a lot of time for the HM.

This is a tough one. Do you enjoy your current job? Can you see yourself being happy there in the future? To me, $1000 more really is not a big deal. I guess what would be most important to me is what job you'll enjoy doing more.

That's a tough one but I don't know if I would. Do you feel like you have good job security in your current job? And do you feel comfortable there? I don't know if this economy it's worth getting a new job if you're comfortable at your current one - if something happens at the new company you might be the first one out.

I would. I would even take a job that paid alot less if I thought I would be happier and could still survive on the income.

It depends on a lot of things- are you happy at your current job, have you been there very long, do you have a better chance at advancement here or at the new job? I'd be honest with them about the wedding and let them know that you would need to take time off. I know it doesn't look great, but you need to take some time off at least.

Re: NWR: Job Question...what would you do?
I say YES. One of my co-workers just did this - except I have a feeling she took a pay cut at the new job. She lives in Melville and commuted to midtown Manhattan every single day. She hated the hours and was tired of getting home at 8-9 pm every night.
She will start her new job in a week and she will have a 10 min commute and prob less stress to because the new job is a much smaller law firm.
So yea - I would lean toward YES because LIRR costs an extra $100-400 a month depending on where you live and commuting could be an extra 2-4 hours per day of lost time. That is worth something I think!!

when I got my job and had to go to a wedding in another country I made sure they knew it right away that I will be taking off a whole week in just a few months. they had no problem w/it

if it was a better job that would make me happier and give me more opportunity in the future, then yes. if i was offered the job i would accept only on the condition that i was allowed those wedding/hm days off

if you'll be happier YES.
if not, NO. $1000 isn't worth leaving a happy place :)
but if you do, be upfront about you needing time off. dont let yourself have any unneeded drama
