So I finally started my new job this week! I just found out from my boss's assistant that tomorrow is my boss's bday. Should I acknowledge it? If I baked something little like brownies would I look like a kiss @#$%? I love bday's but I don't want to make a bad impression, what would you do? (totally love my new boss)

Re: NWR: job related question
I think saying Happy B-day is enough, but if you really love your boss you can bake something as kind of a 'thank you for the job/happy b-day' treat. I don't think anyone would say you're a kiss azz.
Plus if you love birthdays and do that kind of thing for your co-workers in the future your boss might get offended that you didn't do anything for him/her.

You've only just started. Saying happy birthday is enough. I think it would be overkill to give a card or bake something.

I agree. Just say it.

Re: NWR: job related question
Since you just started especially, I think it's best to just say happy birthday. I don't think you should get her anything.
