nwr: jobs

aight, so i'm living in tx right now with fh, and as nice as it is, we both hate it and miss ny. on the bright side, i love my job and it makes it worth it to suck it up until our lease is up (my contract w/ them is only a year). on the bad said, fh hates his job and i feel bad for him. so i've finally gotten him to agree to taking a job in ny if he finds one. as much as i'll miss him and he'd miss me, i'd rather him be happy, and it's only a few months. besides, he's getting paid crap and it's not a career - not using any of the skills he got from 5 years of college (a bfa and an additional year of training). it's like he's treading water here, waiting to go back to ny so he can start a career - there are NO opportunities for him here.

anyways, i know you ladies have a bunch of connections and know EVERYTHING =0) so i was wondering if you could help us with this? anyone wanna hire my fh or know someone who does? he's got a bfa in film and traditional animation and did an additional year in computer graphics (animation and video game production). he's extremely proficient in photoshop, illustrator, maya, flash, the unreal engine and all those computery things i know little about. he's looking for something that utilizes his degree, but has done everything from teaching to animation (traditional and cg) to photoshop, graphic design, web design, and making those banners on websites. he's done freelance and has worked for some pretty established companies. he's looking for li or nyc, or even a little upstate as long as it's a reasonable commute from li.

sorry for the length and probably the boring-ness of this post, but i just really want fh to be happy again, you know. please reply or fm me if you have any info. thank you SO much ladies, this means a lot. =0)

we came down here b/c a lot of video game companies are down here, unfortunately they're all HUGE companies. b/c of that they require like 10 years of experience or something ridiculous like that. anyways, there's a lot more in nyc and he has a lot of connections through friends and old professors and stuff, i'm just trying to on expand that b/c connections only work if you use them. thanks!

Re: nwr: jobs

He should check out mediabistro.com and NYFA.org (on this site go into the Classifieds). They both list jobs that he might be interested in. Also check out Ed2010.com and click on the Whisper jobs section, that is helpful if he is interested in getting into Magazines.

Good Luck! i wish I personally knew of an opening!
