NWR- Jobs/Careers

Hey ladies,

Just curious. Are any ladies on here working jobs or building careers that have nothing to do with their bachelor's and/or master's degrees?

If so, are you happy with your position and able to support yourself/doing well financially? Are you not?

I'll start although I'm probably the odd man out here. For my BA I double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice, but what am I doing now? I'm a logistics officer in the Air Force. I could have majored in Basket weaving for what its worth as none of it applied to what I'm doing. But I love what i'm doing, so I'm getting my MA in Aeronautical Science (not as scary as it sounds, more air transportation related). I know I won't be in the military for that much longer so I'm pretty scared about what i'll be doing when I get out.

As for supporting myself, I support myself just great. Problem is, when I move this upcoming summer, FH will be moving with me which means he'll be out of a job, and we have NO idea where I'm going. Thats a really scary thought, but we've been crunching numbers and living frugally and we're pretty sure we'll come out on top.

That means in a few years we'll be moving once again, I'll be getting out and we'll probably both be looking for a new job. I have no idea if it will be using either of the degrees I'll have by that time.

Are you looking at changing careers, or jumping into something new?

Thanks so much for starting! That's really awesome that you found what you truly love. Will you get reimbursed for any of your degrees? Thank you for serving our country, btw! (My brother recently went through OCS, became a marine lieutenant, and will be deployed very soon.) My uncle is an aeronautical engineer (? I believe that's what he's called), and he really seems to enjoy it.

For the time being, I am lucky to have a good job with good pay in the area I got my bachelor's (and will soon have my master's) in. However, I'm not sure if I will have a job in this field in a year or if I will be able to find one...so I'm wondering what my options will be to find a decent-paying, unrelated job when the time arises...

I have a friend who majored in English and one who majored in Women's Studies. They are both working office jobs for major companies in the city. (One of them works for Tiffany's, actually.) After the wedding, I'll still be paying off car and student loans, and my current job pays pretty well...so sometimes I get a little nervous about it. I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself...but I'm just curious.
