NWR: Just had to spend a million $$$

on my stupid licensing! grrr such a rip-off, to even TAKE THE TEST to become a licensed social worker costs 300 FCUKIN DOLLARS! plus $70 to get a 'limited permit' plus and correct me social workers if i'm wrong on this when I register for the actual test doesn't it cost even more??? grrr with all the wedding expenses and FH may be losing his job (long story I'll explain another time) and then this.

I may ask my employer to reimburse me since they are asking me to take the licensing test (you dont have to be licensed to be a social worker...you just have to be licensed if you want to eventually do private practice or one-on-one therapy, which I don't do at my job but they still want me to take it)

they should def reimburse you for that .... but you'll prob have to pay upfront

I think when you register for the test that money goes towards the amount it costs to get your actual license.

I feel your pain! Teaching tests and licensing costs are a lot too.

They should reimburse you.

Just to let you know also - most higher paying social work jobs out there require you to have a LMSW. It's almost pointless to get your masters and not the license.

I'm getting everything together for my LCSW and it is crazy expensive...
