My brother moved away about a month ago to north carolina. ever since then i havent been the same. He just up and said he was leaving and never said y i think that scares me more than anything. we have always been close so i dont know what is going on. A little background... he is 18 is in love with a 16yr old girl. yes drama drama. i just hate that he is changing his life so much for a girl. maybe i am being to over protective but i hate seeing my mom alone she wasnt prepared to have us both leave in the same year. and now he is comming home third week of november but to only see my mom for 1 day then this girl for 4 days. I dont think this is right and i totally went off and spoke my mind. and not i feel bad. I despise this girl already for breaking his heart once i cant stand to see it again. thanks for listening.

I am sorry your feeling blue. If it were one of my brothers I would grill them until they told me the truth-but that's probably because we tell eachother everything-YES EVERYTHING.

Awe...that sux! I don't know what I would do without my brother. He went away to school for half a year and I felt so empty the whole time! Now that he is home I am so happy he didn't go back! Talk to him when he comes home...make him realize what he is doing with his life and to you and your family....GOOD LUCK

That sounds like a bad situation and you are such a wonderful sister for feeling like this. Most would be furious with him and write him off. He's young and way too young to be moving away for a girl. But you know, he'll have to make his own mistakes, it's the only way he'll learn. Sixteen is too young for a girl to commit so eventually, they will break up. Just make it clear to him he is always welcome and he will come back. Just make sure you keep the lines of communication open. There is nothing worse than feeling like you let everyone down and you can't come back.

Re: NWR: just need to vent or cry on a shoulder
it sounds like he is a love sick 18 yr old boy who hasn't matured yet emotionally (which is not a horrible thing so don't take it badly just he is growing up and has a little more growing up to do). He loves this girl but moving out of state for a 16 yr old is a horrible experience for you and your family. I am so sorry for this to happen to you.
I moved out when i was 18 w/ then my love of my life in a apartment in brooklyn. It only lasted six months - and was a learning experience that made me grow up. I made many mistakes by putting him as the most important thing in my life instead of school and work. Your brother sounds like he is doing this. He will learn, grow and hopefully reflect on this time in his life. He will learn that no matter how much you think your in love with someone - leaving your family is a true sign that your running away from something and simply not leaving due to love. If he went away for college or to grow up and needed the seperation from the family in order to do this then he should of been upfront and told your parents at least.
I would try to contact him and be supported as best as possible for him. I wouldn't lecture in any way... try to get him to go to college down there or get a good job this way its a healthy experience and not just one based on a love sickness.
