NWR: Just spoke to my stepmom- my sister ran away **UPDATED**

She did this a few weeks ago and an amber alert was made for her. She finally came home after three days and my stepmom promptly grounded her. She was allowed to go out tonight to go to a going away party for one of her friends who is in the military. Her friend picked her up and as they turned out of the driveway, the car turned the wrong way. My other sister noticed it and told my stepmom. My stepmom went to the party to see if she was there and another friend told her that my sister and her friend went to Penn.

I don't know what to do. I feel so helpless! I just got this family, I don't want anything to happen to them.

I just need some hugs while I am trying to get my baby sister on her cell phone. FH is DJing a wedding at the Hamlet tonight and I can't call him. I'm freaking out here.

Well your sis came back last time right? So shes bound to come home again.

Your family needs to have an intervention of some sort...why does she keep running away?

Sending out positive vibes

also, how old is this 'friend' who picked her up?

Can you get the license and call the cops in Penn and have them arrested?

Im not sure what to do in this situation- can it be considered kidnapping if your sis is underage ??

I hope she comes back home safe. It sounds like she is having a really difficult time. Is she in counseling of any sort? Many to you and your family.

Thanks you guys. This means so much. I feel so helpless, I don't know what else to do.

That family has been going through a lot and both of my sisters are now in counseling.

I don't know who the friend is but my stepmother knows him. It was someone she trusted. When she came home last time the police said since my sister is 16 years old she can make her own choices. I just don't get it.

I called her phone a few times and kept getting her voicemail. I left her a message to call me ASAP that we are worried and just want to know that she is okay. I can read her the riot act once she actually calls me.

Ugh! This whole thing is making me so sick.

Re: NWR: Just spoke to my stepmom- my sister ran away **UPDATED**

Thank you all sooooo very much.
's to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

I spoke to both my sister and stepmom today.

She went to PA but she says her mom knew about it and told her not to come home until after 3 this afternoon. When I spoke to my stepmom again and told her what my sister said she changed the story that she told me last night to say that she said that after the party they would talk about whether she could go to PA or not.

I don't know who to believe. My stepmother or my sister. I can see my sister hearing what she wanted to hear from her mother.

Another thing is that I didn't put together until this morning (after a very long sleepless night) is that when I spoke to my stepmom last night she had just come home from the bar and she was drunk. When I called about 12:15am to tell her that I still haven't heard from my sister, she was sleeping. Ummm....if you are that concerned why are you going to the bar? Why are you sleeping instead of trying to get in touch with her?

Everyone's home safe now thank goodness. I just got to figure out how to handle this. They had such a different childhood than I did and I have trouble relating.

Thanks again! Your support is why I love LIW.
