NWR: Keratin Complex Hair Straightening... Update after washing!

Just got it done yesterday! My hair is so straight, it's great! Just in time for me to move down to humid SC! However, I can't wash my hair till Monday... i'm dying... I don't know how i'm going to last...

Update: Washed my hair FINALLY... I was counting down till 5:30 yesterday, and omg I love it! I don't have to flat iron my hair at all! It's not like pin straight, it's more like a natural straight. It's so nice! And I went out in the humidity yesterday and it stayed straight! I love it!! It's definately worth it!!

I really want to get it done for the summer. Where did you get it done?

My usual hair dresser did it, she has her own salon in the sunrise mall... I don't know if you're familiar with it, there's a store called 'Essentials', and there's a little hair salon next to it that only she works out of. I can give you her info if you'd like!

Just thought i'd add that I went outside today, normally my hair would frizz up and it was perfectly straight when I got home!

What is this? Is it like Japanese straightening?

It's not the same thing, from what I've been told, Japanese straightening can damage your hair, but the Keratin Complex actually makes it softer and silkier because your hair actually has Keratin in it, so when you add the Keratin to it, it basically improves the quality of your hair. Basically she washed my hair and dried it, put the stuff in my hair, let it sit a while, dried it, and then flat ironed my hair completely. Now I have to leave it alone for 72 hours and not get it wet at all. And then when I finally do shampoo it, I can only use a certain kind of shampoo otherwise i'll just wash the stuff right out.

i charge $650 to do it for shoulder length hair!!!

but i use a different brand..that is permanent..your hair will never be curly agin ( except for when it grows out..DUH) i do it on people and they only need to get it touched up 1 time a year ( im good..lol)

i charge $650 to do it for shoulder length hair!!!

but i use a different brand..that is permanent..your hair will never be curly agin ( except for when it grows out..DUH) i do it on people and they only need to get it touched up 1 time a year ( im good..lol)

now what about the articles on this about women dying from the fumes?? I read something about it containing formaldahyde???

No, this isn't the one with the formaldahyde... i think that's the japanese one... (I could be wrong) But I know it's not this one

I have never heard of this and it's fascinating me! How long does it last? Is it as long as the Japanese straightening?? I wouldn't do it til after the wedding since I want my hair curly for my wedding day.

I was told i'd have to re-do it in 4-6 months when my hair grows in.

the japanese isnt the one w/ formaldahyde. Brazilian Keratin is the one w/ formaldahyde. I'm just not sure if the Brazilian Keratin is the same as the Keratin Complex .
