Re: NWR: Know a painter that does faux painting?
My mom and I did that to my brothers room!!! I don't know anyone who does it professionally but we did it with a natural sponge and it came out awesome.

Same here...my mom did our bathroom a few years ago and it came out gorgeous. She read online how to do it and just winged it. Honestly Jen if you're looking to do it at your own house you can probably do it yourself....you really can't mess it up. It's one of those things where it doesn't have to be perfect to look beautiful
ETA: Duh I should really RE-read posts...I noticed that it was for your moms kitchen

Sooo pretty, how do you know its faux, that can be real paint with just the sponge technique or wall paper

yup we did that in our bedroom with a sponge and in our dining room, the one in the dining room is similar to the picture, it's really not difficult
eta: I took some pictures, the red is my dining room and the blue is my bedroom

Thanks girls.
But, so I can get some background - how long did it take you Jess? If it's something that can be done in a weekend, I'll do it...

we did the base color one day, let it dry and then did the sponging the next, we did it in one weekend. If you start early you can do it in the same day, here is a tutorial. Wear rubber gloves!!
I know someone. She is excellent. She works on the decor at the home of the granddaughter of PC Richards, and she re-did a restaurant in Bay Shore. Where do you live?
