NWR: 'Lame duck' treatment at work...GRR!!

I am a teacher at a HS in Queens and will not be returning to my job next year because FH and I are moving to PA after the wedding. Out of respect for my principal, I tendered my resignation in mid-April in order to allow administration plenty of time to hire someone to replace me.

Since then, a few obnoxious people have begun to treat me very rudely. One of those people is an Assistant Principal!! I just don't appreciate being treated in a disrespectful way or hassled about stupid little things just because I am leaving. I put practically every fiber of my being into that job, and I will continue to do so until my very last day at work. Some people just s u c k!!

Most jobs tend to act strangely after you quit no matter what the reason...did they want you to commute???

UGH! I hate that! I kinda know how you feel. Though I have not given my notice, FH is looking for a job in FL and as soon as he gets one, we're both giving notice. Well, my dept (of 6 incl my boss) were at a function this past Sunday and FH and I had to leave early b/c I was driving him to the airport for a job interview in FL, he 'announced' that we hope to move by the end of July...meanwhile I had only told 2-3 people in my dept, NOT my boss...she threw me the DIRTIEST look and was so rude to me yesterday at work! UGH! These people just need to get over it!

They just don't realize what an asset you are to their school!!! S*cks to be them!

Don't you hate that, when people hold it against you when you want to better your life? They forget everything you've done and figure 'Who cares? They're leaving.'

I'm sorry they're doing this to you. You really find out who your work friends are.

I hope none of the meanies are invited to the wedding. But then you can uninvite them!!

Don't worry the school year is almost OVER

I would go up to them and explain that you aren't required to give such a lenghty notice and that as a courtesy you did it. Then I would add that if you knew what an azz they were going to be you wouldn't have given any notice!
