NWR: Las Vegas: good hotels?

FH and I are planning a trip to Vegas. We've never been there..We are thinking a 3-5 day stay for late April.

Any suggestions on what hotels to stay at and sights to see?

TYA!

Just make sure you stay in the center of the strip, all mentioned above are great choices.

Venetian is gorgeous. Bellagio is, as well. It's off the strip, but Hard Rock has always been my favorite.

I've also stayed at Paris, Alladin, Harrah's and Luxor...all are good too...just not as great as the above in my opinion

My favorite is the Venetian. Beautiful hotel, great location and lots to do. Same for Bellagio.

Check out Cirque du Soleil 'O', the whole show is based around water and it was excellent. I also saw Mystere which was great but IMO not as good as O.

Google fatwallet las vegas promotion codes. It's a message board and ppl post promo codes for better rates and free stuff (discounts on spa treatments, buffet coupons etc)

This is the best advice. I've stayed at the Luxor and it was awesome but it was a super long walk to everything else. The strip is waaaay longer than what you think!

I was gambling at the Luxor and got robbed. Stole a $500 chip right off the craps table from my stack. They had to shut the table down and pull the tapes. They never caught the loser. Hate the Luxor.

Paris is AMAZING but I never stayed in their rooms. The Wynn is AWESOME but expensive. Hard Rock is cool - I love it there. Have fun - wherever you stay you'll have a GREAT time.

Luxor and MGM are the only hotels ive stayed in... i love that end of the strip... but honestly we rarely spent time at our hotel so i wouldnt be too worried about a good or bad hotel

Definitely Plazzo, Wynn, Bellagio. Haven't been to Encore but we're going there at the end of our honeymoon on the way back from Tahiti. For shows I HIGHLY recommend LOVE and Le Rev. Have an awesome time, I looooovvveee Vegas!

We stayed at the MGM and loved it, even though it was more towards the end of the strip. FH stayed at the Mirage which is right smack in the middle.

The Venetian has the nicest rooms, but I am not thrilled with the location of it -
I personally would stay mid-strip, at Paris. The rooms are nice but they won't break the bank. The regular rooms at the Bellagio are nice, but not worth the $$.

Caesar's has a good location, but I haven't stayed there so I can't vouch for the rooms.

Mandalay Bay has a PHENOMENAL pool, and I love the casinos nearby, so that might be a good option as well.

thanks ladies..!!! Cost is an issue so Bellagio is probably out..Would like to keep everything (flight/hotel) to under $1K if possible.
