NWR - LASIK Surgery

NWR - LASIK Surgery

I wear glasses and I want to get contacts for my wedding. My mom and I were talking last night and she suggested I look into LASIK surgery. I'm such a chicken when it comes to doctors and operations so I was wondering if there were any girls out there that have had this procedure? How bad is it? How fast did you recover?

I've been going to my eye doctor all my life and he performs LASIK. Should I just go to him for the procedure or should I look around? How much does it cost?

TIA

I had it done 6 years ago and have never regetted it. My vison was so bad I was close to legally blind without my glasses. Make sure to use a reputable place. My friend had it done at the discount place and they over corrected his eyes. So he still needed corrective lenses. The doctor should give you drops to use before to prep and after to lubricate and prevent infection. The whole thing took about 30 seconds an eye. It automatically shuts off if you sneeze and is not painfull. Those were my big concerns when I had it done. It cost me about $2500 total. It was not bad at all. One of the drops stung a little but not bad. As for time, I was at work the next day. Good luck

I got mine done 6 years ago and so far i LOVE it. I had mine done by Dr. Hufnagel at Stahl Eye Care. At the time, I was working for a company that covered the expense, but even so that was 6 years ago so I don't know how much it would be today.

I had it done 2 years ago and LOVE it!! For me it was life changing. I had such bad eyesight and so many problems with my contacts. It got to the point where my fiance (boyfriend at the time) said he would pay for it ;)

You can get it done on a Friday and fine by Sat night/Sunday. The best part is that you walk in not being able to see and then you can see when you walk out.

I had it done about a year and a half ago. I went to Dr. Basallice, The Opthopmic Center in Seatauket. They were great there! It was a little $$ but well worth it! I do have to say my eyes are a bit dry at times, but that is a normal side effect.
I know if you got it done, you would love it. I am a big chicken too, I did it with no problem. The noise the machine makes is the scariest part...lol. You dont feel a thing. My FH was in a little waiting room that they had for family waiting for the LASIK patient, and they showed the whole surgery on the TV in that room. He said it was neat to watch...lol. If you have any ?'s be sure to FM me
good luck!

I also had Lasik done at Stahl Eye Center- except Dr. Werner performed the surgery. I had it done Sept. 2005- I was seeing 20/15 the next day- my eyesight is not as perfect as it was since then- but it's maybe around 20/20 or a little worse- but honestly my eyesight was so bad before, my vision now still seems perfect to me. I would definitely recommend Stahl- I had bladeless lasik and it cost me around $1600 per eye- and they have 0% interest financing.
