NWR: Leave Santa Alone!

Just my opinion, but I think this is going WAY too far!

Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women

SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional 'ho ho ho' greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say 'ha ha ha' instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use 'ho ho ho' because it could frighten children and was too close to 'ho', a US slang term for prostitute.

'Gimme a break,' said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

'We are talking about little kids who do not understand that 'ho, ho, ho' has any other connotation and nor should they,' she told the Telegraph. 'Leave Santa alone.'

A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was 'misleading' to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.

I heard about this on the news this am. I think its just ridiculous. LIke the news reporter said, they've been saying this for all these years, why change it now?

Ha, I saw this this morning. I can’t believe this went down in Australia, and not here! I could totally see some soccer moms getting their knickers in a twist over ‘ho ho ho.’ IT’s completely ridic.

That is so completely ridiculous!! I want my Santa to say ho ho ho, ha ha ha sounds dumb. They have to take the most innocent things and have something wrong with it.

Things are getting out of control! I heard on Z100 before that they do not want to call Christmas trees Christmas trees anymore...some lady called and was like, 'Should we call a Menorah a candlebra then too?' What idiots out there....they should just try to take away holidays all together and ruin life for everyone!

Im sure that has a lot to do with trying to up the sale of Chanukah trees...lol anything for a buck .. these companies!
