i don't know what kind of teacher you are, but one of my high school english teachers did something cool the first week of school.
she made us write a letter to ourselves about the state of our lives at the moment. she said she would mail them to us four years after we graduated (when we would have graduated from college).
i totally forgot about it until about 2 weeks after my college graduation, the letter showed up to my house.
it was the strangest/coolest thing ever. sort of like a time capsule.

i had put a picture of myself with my high school boyfriend in the letter hahaha and we are long over so it was funny! lol
