NWR- life insurance

so last night FH & I went to move my 401K plan into a IRA since i left my old job. while we were with the financial adviser he put together info for FH & I about life insurance. i understand that this is a good time to get this but i am totally freaked out over it. i don't even work full time yet & i am saving money for when i am dead??? FH said i am too much of a worry wart but i am totally freaked out.

I personally don't like the idea of life insurance unless on of you will be a stay at home parent.

I don't plan to get any, but my job gives it to me for free.

Life insurance is SOOOOOOO important when you become financially reliant on one another. You have a house, you have joint bills, you rely on each other paychecks to take care of these things. If something happens to one of you, that person is left with just their paycheck to foot the those bills. Life insurance is there to make sure you can pay off those bills and be debt free in case of the what if. I know it's horrible to think about, but it's so important and is one of the first things you should do after marriage. Trust me on this.

I think i'm just a big planner, because i have 4 life insurance policies (i know, kind of nuts) one is free from work, one i pay extra for through work, one is through my bank, and one my mom has for me. I just know how that i want to be prepared for the worse

I have one from work, which FH will become the beneficiary of when we get married. We will also get one from the bank, etc. It's SO important. I work in insurance, so I hear ALL SORTS of horror stories all the time. So, I'm slightly paranoid.

I also think it is very important. I have one through work and then one through my sister in laws Insurance agency (she owns her own). FH will become benificery (sp?) once we get married. He also has on through work and my sister in law.

I definitely agree with Amanda. God forbid something happens to me or FH, I want to know that he and my children will be taken care of. We are definitely going to be looking into this over the next year.

i know how important it is, since FHs dad had one & when he passed FH & FMIL would have been in a lot of trouble if he didn't.

i filled out all the papers tuesday night & am just waiting for a phone call to schedule a blood test. it just caught me off guard. we were going to talk about IRA's & we came out with life insurance.
