NWR: LIRR proposed fare hike

This really gets my blood boiling. I don't take the LIRR but there's a good chance that some day soon I will.

I love how the fares keep increasing and the service keeps decreasing. Maybe they can raise our fares if they learn to stop ramming trains into other trains and stop delaying our trains everytime there's a drop of rain or snow.

i hear ya sister....

luckily i commute during rush hour so i should still be able to take the trains i like....

im going to ask my boss for a 23% raise i think...

It's not fair! The service ***** beyond belief, I take it everyday and at least once a week something goes wrong. This week so far I was delayed 3x! And besides, I take the LIRR and the subway, so that means I get hit with the increase twice???? ***

the MTA is the worst in general. I pay for the bus to avoid the subway (express bus) and it is horrible, the drivers are nasty, half the time it doesn't come...

Then I take the F home and it goes 1 mile an hour the whole time and it takes an hour to go 20 minutes away.

And the LIRR is just as bad, thats why I tell my friends who get to to work close to home that YOU CANT BEAT IT!!!!!!! I would LOVE it.

I dont understand their need to increase prices, decrease service, further crowd trains that are already at maximum capacity..... And still pay their executives high salaries and give disability benefits to people who shouldn't be getting them.

Soon it will be more cost efficient to drive to Queens or Brooklyn, park there and take the subway rather than the LIRR

this is really sad. we're supposed to be moving AWAY from driving our cars everywhere. this kind of fare hike will send people running for their cars since gas has dropped, which completely works against all national and international cimate change initiatives.

this is a really pathetic failure in leadership.
