My school is on lockdown right now because of a shooting that happened in the area. We're able to go about the rest of the day normally, but we're not allowed in or out of the building. Crazy how a drill could never prepare you for how anxious you actually feel when they make that announcement!
Just wanted to ask that you all say a prayer that this sick man gets caught and that all the kids in the area get home safe tonight!!

Garden City? I've been following the story since it happened. I'm right next store--even NCC and Roosevelt Field Mall is on lockdown right now. You guys will be alright, stay safe!

Glad you were safe! Many places in nassau even like 10 miles away were in lock down! What is scarier is I havent seen anything yet on the news about catching him! Has anyone heard anything?

They haven't caught him yet but I'm glad that is over. Dismissal yesterday was crazy! We probably didn't need to be on lockdown but when we didn't know why it was happening at first, it aws scary! Better safe than sorry I suppose.
