ive never been out for restaurant week...how does it work? You just have to make a reservation for any of the participating restaurants and the dinner is automatically $25 for 3 courses? and you can order any appetizer, dinner, and dessert that is on their menu?

Yup it's a fixed menu and they usually have wine specials too. So for instance there will be 3 appetizers to choose from, 3 entrees to choose from and 3 desserts. Some places have 4 or 5 choices which is awesome.

Re: NWR: Long Island Restaurant Week
This year we are going to check out Four in Melville-I've heard good things, Louis XVI because we love French food, and probably Captain Bill's.
Last year we went to the Gatsby-but its an Italian restaurant now but it's still on the list. We also went to Blue in Blue Point, Westhampton Steak House, and Desmond's at East Wind. Also out east, La Plage in Wading River-my boss recommended it and it was awesome. Mama Lombardi's is really good too-they are down the street from us and delicious Italian food.
As for Nassau, I don't think I've ever been to any of these restaurants but I've heard good things or friends have worked there: Mim's Restaurant, Tupelo Honey, Runyun's, Legal Seafoods.
Most of them have links that you can check out their price fixe menus online. When you call to make reservations just let them know it's for restaurant week. Happy eating ladies!
