NWR: Long Shot - but Florida people... i know there are some of you out there..

do you know anything about this school??

FHs dad in FL (who we arent really close to) wants to take FHs half sister out of public school and send her to this school. he wants us to look at the website to see what we think of it. (im a teacher FH school psych - so i guess he thinks we can make an opinion of it hahhaha)

I grew up in Florida and I know that Carrollwood is an excellent section of Tampa. I also know that while I was offered several AP classes at my school, when I moved here I heard of several programs such as Westinghouse Science competitions and math competitions that I had never heard of in Florida. I don't think that public schools in Florida are as competitive as they could be. Many students whose parents could afford it transferred their kids to Tampa Christian and Tampa Jesuit. Those were the kids who were def 'college bound' If FH's father is making the move bc he feels that it will do more to prepare her for college, he may be making the right decision.

Yeah he def wants a better school for her. He said that the school she is in now went frmo and A to a C and that 37% of the school is ELLs

I live close to that area...the public schools are horrible! I'm already talking about how i'm going to have to send my children to private school and I'm not having them anytime soon! I think I have heard of Carrolwood Day School...I think its a charter school and from what I can remember its supposed to be a great school. Tampa bay christen and jesuit (all boys school) are great schools too but I think they are highschools
