Sorry, ladies, this birth control is not for you! Anybody heard of this?
I was reading all this stuff on it yesterday and I actually thought it was pretty interested. They're coming out with something for guys - which would be either a daily pill or a monthly shot.
Some guys and girls were interviewed about it (I can't find the link, but if i do, i'll post it) and a lot of girls said they'd be all for it. Some guys also said that they would prefer to take it rather than their wives, because most men are actually afraid of the hormones doing some kind of long term damage to the female body - which frightens most men since she'll be the one carrying his baby for nine months. So when you think of it that way, it just seems logical for the man to take the pills. I dunno - the topic was interesting.
I told FH about it and he was 'yeah right!'. I agreed, I totally would not trust him to take the pill every day. He's guy, there's no way he'd remember. lol. I told him that if we DID ever do that, it would definitely have to be the monthly injection. Otherwise I could see myself walking in on him & his buddies while watching the football game and handing him his pill, all like 'DON'T FORGET YOUR BIRTH CONTROL, SWEETIE!!' He would DIE!!!
What do you girls think??? If it's safe and all that, would you prefer your hubby to be the one on the pill rather than you?

i would trust him to take it since he is the one who gives me my pill - b/c i always forget
i dont know though, i dont like new things - id probably want to wait awhile and see how it does once its out on the market - i think if he did take some kind of pill or injection i would still stay on BC as well - i think double protection is smart and more effective...

If it was discoverd to be safe, then I say why not!! I mean women should still use protection otherwise.

Agreed! As much as I would love to give up the responsibility, I just wouldn't have the same peace of mind... I'm fine with taking care of it myself. At least I know that it's taken care of instead of hoping he remembered every day!

My DH would NEVER remember to take a pill! Plus, he is very 'anti-meds' a lot of the time, so I doubt he'd be interested. I am so organized, I have no problems being the one to take the pill!

i wish there was something for the guys to take!!!! all this BC non-sense is annoying!
however I would totally not trust a guy to take this regularly. i would want to be in control of something that would ultimately affect me n my body.

Actually my DH is better with remembering than I am. And I actually went off of it because I am not sure yet when we want to have kids, and I want to have my body cleared of the pill before we try. Although I think we have awhile! but if I did a lot of research and found it to be perfectly safe and work, I think he would be open to it.

I feel the same way - - that's why I had said that the only way it could be an option would be if he does the monthly injection rather than a daily pill. Then I could just remind him go to the dr the 1st of every month. lol. Because I'd be soooooo pissed if he forgot and then I got pregnant, I'd rather just take care of it myself. lol.
But on the other hand, I DO think that guys should be the ones to take the pill. Women already do enough with their bodies and because we're the ones actually carrying the baby inside of us, it just makes sense to not have those hormones. I do think it would be wise to have the man take care of it. I wouldn't trust it this early in the research though!!

I feel like I've been on the pill forever!! It scares me to think of the long term effects on my body and I would LOVE if DH could do something instead for a little while. I trust him to do it, he's better at remembering that stuff than I am!
