NWR: Miami?

NWR: Miami?

Has anyone ever been to Miami and if so, what are some good hotels to stay at? DH and I are going on a cruise in January out of Miami but would like to stay there for a few nights before the cruise. Any help is appreciated!! Oh yea, near the beach and shops would be best!

Are you looking to stay in South Beach? I recommend the Essex House. It's in a great location 1 block down from Ocean Drive where all the restaurants and stores are and across the street from the beach. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms are clean, they offer free breakfast and have a nice pool and lounge area outside.

I was just at the Loews and it was fantastic. Only one block from Lincoln, tons of great shopping, and has beach front access (you just walk out the pool area and right onto the beach where Loews has its own giant area).
Also really close (walking distance, just a few minutes) to Ocean Drive.

Oh, and the pool is also 24/7! Includes the main giant pool and the hot tubs. There is nothing so nice as coming back from the night out and taking a dip, no matter what the time.
