NWR - Microdermabrasion or chemical peel??

i have some acne scars from when i was younger. which method is the more effective to get rid of them. I tried microdermabrasion a long time.. i went a few times cos it very expensive but i didn't notice any difference. Well right now i am welling to spend the money if i can get rid of it for the wedding.

Anybody ever have a chemical peel??

what pros/cons of each?

i've had microdermabrasion's and i still get them. The microdermabrasion's are better for acne scars vs. chemical peels. Also, have you bought the Neutrogena microdermabrasion kit? It is amazing and i've spoken with dermatologists who said they think they do the job just the same--i use it and use the max amount of time for each part of my face (which is 2 min). I would recommend using that until the big day, but then schedule a real microdermabrasion just before.
Also, there is a prescription face mask that is amazing, it doesn't actually reduce the pores on your skin but it makes them appear smaller, its also good for keeping the elasticity for your skin its called 'Plexion'. And if your still having breakouts, get a presciption for 'clenia' or 'rosaderm', it is sulfer based face wash--between the masks and the face wash my skin is completely clear--i've tried everything and this is the magic combination.

I'm actually obsessed with skin care so if you need any more tips--HOLLA

Re: NWR - Microdermabrasion or chemical peel??

I live in Brooklyn, so my Dermatologist is out here--but honestly, I had to find my winning combination on my own and then had them write it for me--also--here are some good prescription products for any breakouts--or 'spot' treatment-

Tazorac--this is a cream that only a small amount should be used. Its actually flying off the shelves not for acne but for women who are trying to keep the elasticity of their skin--cosmetic care--because of this some insurance companies are requiring a preauthorization. It is a very good face cream for acne and you get the added cosmetic benefit.

Duac--this is a gel that is stored in the refridgerator--i swear, if i feel in the slightest pimple coming out i pust a little patch of this on overnight and the pimple never comes out!! Love it.

And then last but not least, Evelclyn, this is a clydamycyin similiar to the Duac but it comes in a foam which my dermatologist says has been shown in clinical studies to have the best permeabitly through the skin. I had a few pimples on my back and they went away completely.

I'm telling you, I used to have breakouts and now i am clear!!
