Re: NWR - a note to nosy biatches who went into my personal picture folder at work - is this mean?
sad that people cannot be honest
i didn't read the whole thing, but if somthing were that personal, personally i wouldn't allow it to be at work.
regarding access to computers..i feel your company is not safe cause everybody can access each others profiles. we can't access nothing over the network except for what we need. Home DIR's should never be a share drive....
responding like the way you did maybe was crossing over the line. their are ways of handling this and i woulda took a different apporach. i hope everything works out for u

See I kinda assume anything at work will be seen my people at my job. Thats why I keep stuff like that at home.
As an outsider observer, and please dont take this the wrong way, you seem to have a lot of anger and aggression with a lot of things in your life. You are getting married and found a wonderful man. This is a great time in your life, yet you seem to post non stop about nosey people, bitchy people, etc etc. problems with coworkers, friends, family, and future family.Every post is about 'drama'. Please take it easy. Like I said this is the best time for you, enjoy it. Let the other stuff go. There will always be something to worry about or people who will piss you off....learn to let it go and see the big picture of your happiness.
Sorry and hope you dont take this the wrong way, but it seems a lot of your time is being taken up my hate when this is a time of love. Just want you to be happy

I would keep it short and sweet. Anyone that pathetic is not going to read the entire thing even though they should.
Maybe something like.... 'You have accessed a personal file. The system has now noted date and time of access and will be able to trace the individual responsible. This will be reported to the superiors.'
Would that be enough to scare them off? Would they know if that's possible or not?
Yes, you shouldn't keep personal stuff at work but on the same hand people should not be looking.
Could a memo be sent around the office explaining proper computer etiquette?
Just some ideas.

I agree with you 100%. I recently found out my co-worker was reading my e-mails, never said anything and tried to use them against me because we don;t like each other, and of course, i said stuff on some of the e-mails, not all of them, the rest was very personal stuff i was confiding to a friend, and now, she knows all about it, I HATE HER. I don't understand how she read them, nobody does, not even our systems department. I learned my lesson now!

my only thoughts:
You're totally right to be mad. But, if it's work equipment, I am sure that there's a policy somewhere that says it's for work use only.
Obviously, if those people are looking at your stuff, they are not using the equipment for work related purposes.
HOWEVER, if they read that note and get mad and complain to someone, they can probably say that they were looking for something work related and stumbled upon your note. Then, you might get into some hot water...

That is just irritating. Sounds like your coworker knows your password though. If the tech people could not trace it - she must be logged in as you. I'd change the password.

I wouldn't be concerned about getting in troube, as you are leaving this job at the end of the month anyway...I do agree with the earlier post, keeping it short and sweet, 'You have entered a personal file, etc, etc'--for two reasons...1. it more tasteful--you don't need to sink to their pathetic level. 2. On the off chance someone else sees it-like a computer tech, or a supervisor--it reads more business than personal. I think it was good to write down all of those thoughts, somewhat theraputic, getting all of those feelings down on paper--I know how aggravating coworkers can be.....try to pity them, to laugh at them...it must be aweful to be that jealous.....

OF COUSRE YOU ASK PEOPLE AND THEY DENY IT. I CANT WAIT TILL I FIND THE PERSON WHO DID THIS. THANK GOD I FOUND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO RECALL MESSAGES.(I CAN ALSO GET IN TROUBLE FOR THAT H.R READS OUR EMAILS)
THEY WENT INTO MY COMPUTER AND TYPED THAT EMAIL ITS AGAINST COMPANY POLICY TO DO THAT AND IT'S TERMANATION ON THE SPOT..

Really? Let it go.
It is so not worth it.
I think your anger is misdirected.

Wow!!!! That is really jacked up to do that - trying to imply that you are interested in your boss. People just really suck!!!
ETA - Change your password. A friend at another firm says the system prompts them for a new pass word every 30 days.

It is, she is getting transfer and tomorrow is her last day, so take it from me that lived something similar, let it go, it bothers me and I know it bothers you too, but you are leaving Thank God! Let's just learn the lesson to keep personal stuff at home, you never know who is reading and looking at your things at work.

I agree that some people have nothing better to do with there lives than pry into others lives but please do not let this get to you ( I know its difficult). Do not spend too much energy on this b/c you are wasting your time on people who really don't matter.
You are a great point in your life and unfortunately everyone is not going to be happy for you but then again they are not real friends so who cares anyway.
Please direct your energy to the good things that are going on in your life and don't worry about the drama. You will never get time back!
I say this b/c while I was engaged DH and I had a lot to deal with. Not drama but a lot of things that were beyond our control. We decided that we are blessed and everything happens for a reason and we would get through it together. That's all that matters that you have a great relationship with your FH and you deal with things together.

IMO the letter was a bit over the top...I would probably just ignore the issue, but I don't think I would have been as offended if someone was able to view some pictures...My brother works at a large NYC law firm and I know the attorneys all travel in close knit circles--even if you write this letter and change firms, it could follow you in the future, and prove to be a black mark on your business record. Write the letter if it makes you feel better, but I think it is overreacting to post it. And there will ALWAYS be nosy people, regardless of where you work. I doubt the next job will be any different.
