NWR: Mortgages, yay!

Hey ladies! FH and I kind of fell into this deal for a condo that we would hate to pass up on (it's a 2 br, 2 bath, short sale on a place owned by a friend of my moms...and with two people, two cars, and two dogs, renting would be SUPER hard), but now comes the fun part - finding a mortgage that we can afford!

All of you who have bought houses recently, what bank did you use, and do you know what the APR is? Any recommendations to make this as affordable as possible would be appreciated - I would hate to miss out on this!

Continental Mortgages has been very helpful. If you are a teacher you get more discounts. The guy we have been working with has been very helpful.

Our mortgage is through Bethpage Federal Credit Union. They had the best rate, they're NOT a bank, which was the biggest selling point. They'll also never sell our mortgage, it will always be with bethpage. They were awesome to work with, we worked with Danielle out of their massapequa branch. We bought our house two years ago, I don't know what the market rate is now, but we locked in at 3.25%.

We went with Continental home loans, who sold our loan to Chase as soon as we got it. It's about a year old and 4.625%
