NWR: Mouse in the house

NWR: Mouse in the house

FH was out playing hockey and I heard quite a ruckus coming from my kitchen cupboard. I told FH when he came home and he told me to have the exterminator spray the cupboard and the hallway and I asked why the hallway and he said the neighbor upstairs saw a mouse there I want to move NOW. Either that or if he's friendly I want to keep him as my pet. I can't sleep now

I would be climbing on all the furniture instead of walking on the floor. I really bad with that stuff. Good luck and keep us updated.

Get snap traps. If you poison the mice they die somewhere else and you have to find them. We set snap traps when we had mice and they were caught pretty quick. Put pb on the trap. It's a little gross to clean up but it works!!!

I had mice (yes the pural version!) It is awful, because it is very disturbing to hear and know some critter is on your stuff!

Try some mice traps or glue boards. They are not the friendliest way to remove them, but it works. Also keep food in plastic containers instead of cardboard and paper items.

I kind of want to catch him, drive him 3 miles (so he can't find his way back) and then set him free but I'm not that brave but I don't want to kill him.

we had the same problem last week... its due the weather change. we were told pepermint oil would scare them away. We got pepermint oil from the health food store and place cotton balls with the oil on it. We put them under the stove and in the closets ... I guess it works because we have not seen any since. Added plus is our house smells like candy canes !!!!!!!

OMG your hamster died?

i had SO many mice in my apt on 52nd street. it was disgusting b/c they were doing construction. we caught at least 3. when one of them got out of the kitchen and ran across the LR floor WHILE we were watching TV i made FH chase it back to the kitchen while i jumped up and down on the bed screaming

I ended up getting a cat

If FH wasn't allergic I would already have a cat. I'm even considering getting a bald one but I think it would freak me out when I pet him/her.

Re: NWR: Mouse in the house

OMG so a few weeks ago I was cleaning and I asked FH to move the microwave and behind it was poop....mouse poop! I almost died. A few weeks prior to this FH and the dog heard noises in the wall - but nothing came of it.....we actually thought that it was a bird at first, but we never heard the sound again and just kind of forgot about it.....FH's Dad is an exterminator so he came to the apartment and moved our stove - behind it was all poop! We took the stove apart - we removed the whole range top piece and inside the stove where the gas comes out was more poop! I was HORRIFIED!! We set all sticky traps and waited and waited. The mouse never came out. FH's Dad said it was hard to tell how old the poop was b/c the heat from the stove could have dried it out so he couldnt tell by looking at it. Before all this - there was mysterious blood all over my carpet and my dogs nose......So we dont know if the mouse died in a wall, my dog ate it, or it got into another house (we are in townhomes). It was so gross. We named the mouse Gus Gus and said that if we caught it we would set it free I was TOTALLY SCEEVED out but I felt soooo bad to just let it die on a trap.....SO GROSS! Good luck in the Mouse Hunt!

i have a cat, I'l loan him to you if you'd like.

This is kind of awful (animal lovers stop reading) but if you dip cheese in anti-freeze and leave it for the mice, it gets rid of them pretty quickly.

WARNING:: DO NOT EVER EVER DO THIS IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PETS. YOUR CATS OR DOGS WILL EAT IT AND THEY TOO DIE!!!

Dogs love the taste of antifreeze.. and cheese..
