NWR-Moussaoui Gets Life for Role in Sept. 11

I am not sure what I think of this....I guess I was thinking he was getting the death penalty

Reading the headlines I was a bit disappointed...He gets to live.....given in a prison...none the less...live.......

Well, I'm completely torn over this.

If he was given the death penalty, he would die a martyr (in his own eyes). I think *HE* thought he was getting death.

By keeping him alive in prison, i think we're just opening the door for him to gather a prison following, and do MORE bad things.

Either way, he's a rotten piece of crap.

Well, I'm completely torn over this.

If he was given the death penalty, he would die a martyr (in his own eyes). I think *HE* thought he was gettng death.

By keeping him alive in prison, i think we're just opening the door for him to gather a prison follow, and do MORE bad things.

Either way, he's a rotten piece of crap.

Wow...I didn't even think of it that way...you are soo right!!! Its a lose lose situation I guess...I just had horrific memories of the towers and was brought back.....

Oh well....his judgement day will come..............

all it took was 7 days of deliberation...I really feel for those people - I don't think I could make that decision, even if I had a YEAR.

I don't know what to think about this decision. I had a feeling they wouldn't give him the death penalty. I'm very upset right now and scared of what might happen now that he gets to live. Who knows who he might talk to or get to trust him, do things for him, etc.

Death penalty is deserved and he should have gotten it but if you think about it life in prison is torture - living the rest of your life with no freedom and locked in jail and having to be reminded EVERYDAY about what you did.

I'm not happy w/ either choice that was given. I would have opted for plain ol' torture to be repeated every day for the rest of his life!

That sound like a good idea to me. I feel really bad for those people too, i can't imagine having to make a choice like that.

Being a criminal justice major I agree with the verdict as much as I wanted him to die. There was no evidence lking him to killing anyone b/c he was in jail at the time. Also killing him gives him what he wants and thats to be a Matar. Instead he will locked in solitery confinment for 23hours a day with no contact with the outside world and no tv to watch what is going on with Al quada. At first I wanted the death penalty but I feel it is too easy a punishment and does not change 9/11 or the future

That is ok, think of it this way.....Now he can get his as* ripped apart for the next 60 years of his life. Believe me, he is going to be tortured in jail and deserves to be. Death would have been an easy way out for him. You have to remember, these people want to die for their country.

Sorry if I am being harsh, but I knew a lot of people that died that day.

I'm happy he didn't get the death penalty since that is exactly what he wanted. He wanted to die as a martyr. By giving him the death penalty we would get exactly what he set out to do. I'm glad he will have the rest of his life to wish he had accomplished what he wanted.

Completely agree-wish he had gotten the death penalty for what he did! BUT now he has to sit and think about all the people whose lives have been forever been ruptured b/c of him! Sit and think about it for the rest of his life!
