We will be closing soon what do I need to do to set up water/electric? I have always had apartments with utilities included so I have no clue! Also is there anything else I need to be doing ?

All you have to do is call your local water company and make sure the previous owner closed their account and gave them your name. (You usually get a bill every 3 months but the first one might come sooner or later than that depending what billing week they are on) As far as electric just call LIPA and let them know you will be moving into the house (you need to call a few days before you are closing and just inform them when you are closing) You just have to give your name and address and they take care of the rest

I don't know if you have gas or oil heat but if it's gas then when you call LIPA they will also set you up with National Grid.

Thanks ladies, we have oil so I guess down the road we will need to research & find a good company.
