NWR: My crazy friend that lives in Hawaii

She's leaving Hawaii for Thailand on Sunday. Staying there a month, then leaving for grad school in Australia.

Her phone will be shut off on Saturday, which means we won't be able to talk as freely anymore. Everything will be limited to e-mail and FB chatter.

We talked for so long last night...both of us cried a lot. It's work and dedication to maintain a close friendship when there's a lot of distance in between.

It's so weird...both of us are making such big changes this year. I wish she could be at the wedding, and she does too, but timing just won't permit it since she'll be starting school right around the time of the wedding.

I can't believe that she and I have been friends for literally half our lives. We met when we were freshmen in high school.

For those that have heard a lot about her...she's very excited, as she'll have a real bathroom Hooray for plumbing!

Sigh. I'm going to miss her. At least in Hawaii, it's still the U.S. and not a tremendous time difference.

She's going to the school closest to the Great Barrier Reef...I cannot wait to see the photos. Maybe when FH and I go to Bangladesh next year, we can go and visit her...since we'll be on that part of the planet.

Yeah...I don't know why I typed this. Just to get it out, I guess.

Thanks. It's weird, I feel like she's moving away from NY...we're just that tight that we don't need to be together to feel like we are together.

She'll be living in a real house with four walls! UPGRADE from the tent!!!

you should definitely try to stop there on the way back from bangaladesh. plan a stop over for a few days in sydney.

if you guys managed to stay in touch while she was in Hawaii, I bet that you'll continue to keep in touch even though she'll be in Australia. My friend's boyfriend was living in Australia while he was living here and they made it work....you can do it!!!!

I'm really impressed that you guys have been able to maintain such a close friendship with her in Hawaii - it just goes to show you how important this relationship is to both of you and you will definitely work to maintain it when she's in Australia.
