OMG it was SO funny! I loved it! But I have no clue when it's supposed to be. It took me half the movie to figure out they're in Idaho!

lol... such a good movie!! i couldn't figure out when it was supposed to take place, either... cause there were a few things that were ' modern' about it... but i think thats just supposed to be another funny part about the movie....

I think that they were just living so out in the middle of nowhere that they were not in touch with the latest trends and styles so they wore outdated clothes

I love this movie!!! I think it was suppose to be in this time period, but they were living in the middle of no where, and had no sense of style of trends.
If you travel out of New York, California, Florida, you notice a huge difference in style.

I think that is wrong.It is set in modern day. Do not forget, Kip is always 'chatting with babes' on the internet.
Uncle Rico says he wishes he can go back in time to 1982 and buys that time machine. (It is on like everyday on HBO.)

It's supposed to be set in recent years, but since it's the middle of Idaho, they are behind the times. That's the joke.
I love that movie! But I can see how some people would hate it too.

It is supposed to be current. In the beginning credits they show Napoleon's school ID and it says 2000-something. It just takes place in Idaho, so it seems out of date.
