NWR: need a hotel/motel/inn recommendation out east
DH and I are having serious marital problems. His family and I do not get along and he is struggling and there is such marital stress.
So I am thinking of going away this weekend somewhere out east so that we can get some peace and maybe reconnect a little... kind of a 'one last try' thing.
Can anyone recommend a nice place to go? TIA

I'm sorry to hear you're going through that.
Try some B&B's on the North Fork by the Vineyards. I've never actually stayed in one, but they look really nice. Try this site:
I just got back from Montauk. It's not as glamorous out there, but it's nice and relaxing. We stayed in The Sands last year that was pretty EH, and the Montauk Motel this year - which I was pleasantly surprised with. It was $75 a night. Gurney's is the nice, expensive place out there, but I think it runs around $300-$350 a night, and I'm not sure it's worth the money.
I hope this helps!

I stayed at Gurney's once and it was beautiful but it was expensive - I was given a gift certificate for it.
Please hang in there - I often read on the newlywed board how difficult the 1st year of marriage was for some women with all the adjustments - especially if you didn't live together before. Maybe ask on there for some advice about what is going on for you, or even more on LI Families, you'll see there were other women in your situation and they could maybe help you cope or give advice. Feel free to FM me, too, if you just need to vent!

I don't have any recommendations, as I've never stayed out there.
Just wanted to offer

I'd recommend Gurney's as well. FIL goes there annually for a union conference and he raves about it. Plus, it's romantic - right on the water too!
for the two of you!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough time!
My FH & I stayed at The Enclave Inn in Wainscott once, it was a pretty nice place and a decent price (it was off season in March). They have one in Bridgehampton and on in Southampton.
