5 years ago a friend of mine (Stacy) dated, FH's friend (Eddie). there was a bad break up & Stacey & i stopped talking.
fast foward to last week, Stacy starts talking to Eddie again & they are now friends. & she still has feelings for him. now Stacy wants to be friends with me again.
the problem is that the past couple of years Eddie, FH & I all have become really good friends. to the point where FH may have Eddie as his best man.
should I start being friends with her again or give them time to work things out first??? on a side note Stacy & I were friends for 15 years prior to us having a fight & not talking anymore.
any advice would help. TIA

imho if you were friends for so long had one fight and stopped talking for 5 years, you never were really close in the first place and i personally dont think its worth it and the drama that can come from it.
But since you seem so keen on talking to her again, wait until her and the ex work their stuff out and see what happens...Dont jump right back into a relationship with this girl, she still has feeling for the guy and it would spell trouble for you and fh to be in the middle of it

i would wait till they worked stuff out.....its just sounds weird saying that someone wants to be friends with you again, to me i took it as its more convenient for her to be friends with you again since her and this guy are working stuff out now.... JMO though

isnt it sad how girls drop everything for a guy they like? u stopped speaking..a nd now she is speaking t him again, and likes him.. so she said what to u? 'heyyyyy!' ERF!
i wouldnt get close if i were u. i'd actually be mad, VERY mad. dont be nasty to the girl.. but now u, along with every1 else, knows what shes about. just be cautious.

its an extremely long story, but in short a couple of things happened that she didn't handle very well.
1st, a friend of FH's was diagnosed with cancer, so he spent a lot of time with her in & out of treatments & Stacy thought he was cheating on me. (which he wasn't)
2nd, Eddie was in the hospital for a week or so when they were dating & she refused to visit him & we got into a big tiff over me saying how she should be visiting him.
lastly, she sent me an e-mail trying to break FH & I up, (she was saying a lot of things that were untrue, that he cheats on me, that he shouldn't have female friends, etc.). when i confronted her about it, she denied the entire thing ever happening.

If that girl was doing that you can honestly call her a friend? Dont even bother trying to have any kind of relationship with this girl

ITA .. i wouldnt be friends with her at all ... she only wants to get close to u now cuz shes with him again ... if she couldnt be your friend without then she doesnt need to be your friend with him

that was my initial plan. FH also feels the same way.
problem will be if FH does have Eddie as his bestman & they are together at the time of the wedding.

you dont invite her...she hasnt been a part of your life for 5 years, she shows up and all of a sudden you are obligated to have her? You dont have to invite her, she isnt a friend, they havent been together for 5 years so why invite someone you dont like?

Actually had almost the same experience, my best friend during the last year of high school starting dating some guy, bad break, and yada yada we stopped talking
Well about 2 years ago, we started talking again. We discussed how stupid we both were for not talking to one another and letting our friendship die like that.
Fast forward to today, she is my absolute best friend and love her like my own sister. She is one of my bm. We will never let that happen again. We think we were both immature and let it go.

If you have to ask, you know the answer.
Just because she MAY be with him, doesnt mean you have to be friends. You do not have to be friends with all of friend significant others. You can be civil for his and FI sake, but do not force a friendship you were fine without

thats the thing. when she contacted me last week, she didn't start with the small talk. she went straight to business. apologizing for what happened between us & all. i also found out that she told FH's friend that she was very upset over not having me as a friend.
if i do forgive i will never forget what she did. i wont trust her with my most precious of secrets.
