FHs cousin had a baby born with a lot of medical needs. They live very far away. We gave them a baby gift when we saw them over the summer, before the baby was born. Now the baby is 3 months old and still in the hospital. He has had 2 operations and is still on a feeding tube. FH is not very close with his family and I have only met them 2 times but I know they must be going through a lot and I want to send them something. Any suggestions? TIA

Re: NWR: need advice on gift for baby
That is horrible that your FH's family is going through something so difficult. As I am sure that the parents of this baby are spending a lot of time in the hospital - I think, at this time, I would send something for the parents...a food basket, muffins, fruit, maybe magazines, dinner gift certificate. The baby probably doesn't need anything right now. I wish you all lots of luck.

Re: NWR: need advice on gift for baby
Thank you. I was thinking a gift card to Panera. But I went to the website and their is not one close to the hospital or their house. Does anyone know of similar type restaurants that I could look up. I want to try to find something close to them. They live out in western PA and its is a bit rural. I'm having a hard time finding a restaurant to get them a gift card for.

So sorry your family is going through this I can't imagine how stressfull it must be. I think getting something for them would be perfect and I'm sure very appreciated... Why not a Visa or Amex gift card so that they don't have to worry about what they're near they can just pick whatever's easiest for them?

If you're not sure which restaurants are close to them, maybe a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts gift card would be better?

I agree with the restaurant ideas...close to the hospital....it will help them to not worry about what is for dinner in the midst of all of this turmoil.
You are very thoughtful...super nice of you.

I like the idea of the visa or Amex gift card. This way they can use it wherever they need.
