Need advice, I may go to one of my professors and find out what I can do. My roommate hasnt paid me the rent in a month and a half, and keeps saying her job messed up her payroll, twice in a row, or she needs groceries, or she has to pay something else. we have lived together for 8 months, and 4 of them her rent was late, or partial payments.
She originally told me her money was going to car and insurance, and then her car was repo'd. She makes 50k a year, and cant afford 800??? should I stick it out, or try and get her out of the apartment? at my wits end, and heading into a con law exam from hell.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i would let her know she has till such and such date to give you the rent, and if she cant fork it over then you will have to ask her to leave. tell her that its NOT acceptable to give you excuses/partial payments. if she refuses to leave, call your local sheriffs office and they will come and take her stuff out and send her on her way. good luck!

problem is, the lease is in both of our names, but my name is the primary on the account because of credit checks. Would I still be able to get the sheriff to throw her out?
