Okay... so I'm planning a 30th Surprise party for my husband. I want to do a big poster or banner with a collage of baby pics to now. Has anyone ever done something like this? Any creative girls out there? I want it to be funny too!
The problem is my husband is the creative one and this is usually his department.

I'm an artist and ive done framed collages of my dad for his 60th birthday party.. did you want something like that, or the pictures blown up etc

Yup... that's exactly what I'm looking to do. Maybe a collage of pictures and some funny saying or something. Do you have an office or something?

or you could do a timeline of his life... like born here... and picture... from 5- 10 elementary school and pics of him there... or somehting like that.. that would be funny..

Wow... that's amazing! You have any ideas for the 30th party? I'll pay... Sorry... I'm so not creative and I obviously live with my husband so I can't do anything at home.

you know what would be cute... if you take photos from his lifetime and create a timeline with them...
tell a story with them and poke fun at him in it... (like the clothes he wore as a child obviously RETRO now, and the awkward stages of being a teenager (in the 90s!!!!)

I like the time line idea a lot, but like I said... I can't do it while I live with him. Ugh!! I was going to go this weekend to maybe a sign store or something and see if they can put something together... or even hire some smart college kid off for the summer looking to make some $$

you could even take it a step further and get photos made into SLIDE and have a slide show and actually TELL the story... but that might get too technical.
I would be more than happy to help you but I dont have the means to blow up the pictures. I can certainly make poster boards for you (if you can get the photos sized) and help you think of crazy way to tease his pictures.

His b-day is in Sept. The Surprise party is Aug 25th in his parent's backyard. If you look in my album it's where we had the Engagement party last summer. This time it won't be as formal and I just want it to be fun and everyone drinking, swimming and eating.
HIs mom can give me a bunch of pictures and I guess I'd have to scan them and print them b/c I don't want to use originals. You live in Nassau?

I live in queens but work in nassau... I have a lot of free time in the summer so why dont you scan some pictures (REALLY funny ones) and I can help you brainstorm what we can do with them.
Its totally doable.. you can have a table set up with foam boards telling a story. Guests can mull around them during the party.
for my father's 60th we had a table of framed collages and items from his past... it was liek a shrine to him & alot of fun

OOOH i love these threads! I did the same for FHs last b-day, First his sister emailed me scanned copies of all of those priceless family photos; I put them on a memory stick and ran to a Kodak store (with the kiosks?) and made this collage.
The day of the party i pasted it (it was 8.5x11 inches) onto a giant piece of Oaktag paper and hung it up centrally at the party. and put Glitter and happy birthday stickers on it.
Everyone signed it and put well wishes. i also included EMAILS from overseas friends who could not be in attendance, it was a big hit and he loved it!!
